Horsetail Cautions

Cautions:

"If large quantities are drunk at one time or if its use is continued for more than

   several weeks, it can become an irritant to the urinary tract tissues and the

   intestional mucosa. The alkaloid equisetin, which is found in differing quantities

   in the various species, is a substance that can act as a mild hypnotic but is

   somewhat toxic in large quantities of tea if it is present to any substantial degree."
