Contraindications:    "Donīt use Bittersweet with kidney disease, and only use it externally if you are    taking any medications.  If you have arthritis or skin allergies that have been shown    to be aggravated by members of the Nightshade family, donīt use Bittersweet.     It stimulates cutaneous and mucosal circulation and is not appropriate during    pregnancy."   Ref.
