Squash Bugs


  
  On squash family plants especially high desert and mountain areas.  Five eight�s

  inch long creatures, they cause leaf wilt and fruit damage.  Summer melons,

  squash and cucumbers are seldom affected.  Mainly winter squash and pumpkins.

   In spring adult bug lays eggs on leaves, a mass of hard brown eggs crowded

  together on bottom side of leaf.  Bugs spend night under flat objects, so lay them

  out and pick up in the morning.  They emit a foul odor.  Start control when plants

  are small.
