                    Cutworms

A large variety of hairless larvae of night flying moths make up this diverse

group.  They feed at night and on overcast days.  And most can cut off your plants

at the ground.  They hide in the ground curled up during the day.

Put barrier around each seedling ( cut off milk carton sleeve with 1" below soil

level, 2" above,  1" between sleeve and plant or add petroleum jelly or stick ant

barrier along upper edge.  Or handpick at night.  Or lay boards or heavy paper,

  - pick up during day and remove cutworms.  Or flood ground for 5 - 10 minutes - -

cutworms will come up.  Or for young cutworms use Bacillus thuringiensis.
